Australian born and self-taught, Graeme Wild has been painting for more than forty years.
Raised in Bendigo, Victoria his appreciation for colour, tone and form were evident from an early age. As a small child he was always drawing, and proved to be quite the draftsman during his secondary schooling.
Graeme married in the 1960s, and despite his penchant for all things artistic, he went on to become a plumber. He worked in the building industry for the next thirty years. During this time he and his wife, Chris, raised their family of three girls.
In the 1990s Graeme began painting full time, and he and his wife moved to the Margaret River region of Western Australia. Here he developed a new passion for still life studies and pastels. His work continues to be represented at the Margaret River Art Gallery.
In 1999, Graeme travelled to Tuscany, Venice and the small fishing village of Chioggia in Italy. The thirty-plus paintings that were produced from this venture were featured in Graeme's 2000 solo exhibition, Still Life & Italy.
Currently Graeme is based in Perth, Western Australia. Visit the Find Graeme's Art page for details on galleries currently exhibiting Graeme's art.
Graeme’s work is represented in private, public and corporate collections in Australia and overseas.
